Kairos Blanket Exercise

On December 5 and December 7, over 200 students in Grade 9 and Grade 10 participated in the Kairos Blanket Exercise. The Blanket Exercise is a simulation that allows students to learn of the impacts of Western European colonization on the Indigenous peoples of Canada.

Facilitated by Dr. Bob Phillips, students participated in a cleansing smudge to open the workshop, followed by the blanket exercise, a talking circle and an activity called “Seeds of Hope” which focuses on thinking about how to improve our communities in the future.
