On Friday, December 9, Grade 10 girls, Emily Johnston, Sarah Gifford, Amina Vance and Surraby Balasubramaniam participated at the PC4G Challenge at the University of Waterloo.
They had an opportunity to experience the fun of programming using the Alice programming language. The girls were given a framework to code and were expected to extend and enhance it. Our students were introduced to basic object-oriented programming concepts and demonstrated sequential thinking and parallel processing while completing the challenge.
Both our teams put forth commendable effort. Amina Vance and Surraby Balasubramaniam received a Bronze medal at the end of the challenge. Congratulations to all four girls!
Special thanks to Ms. O’Connell for organizing this great opportunity.
