Feedback on our Program

"Western Tech has been a really great experience for me during the few years that I came to call it home. A lot of that I owe to the Gifted Program, which brought me into contact with a lot of great people and a lot of fantastic teachers who I'll remember forever."

- Jonathan Bylok, Student

"I still remember that first time I spoke to you over the phone regarding gifted classes for our daughter. Now it's the end of the year and I feel so much for the school - peacefully, I can say it has been a fantastic year for everyone. Our daughter has been given more of an opportunity to be a responsible student - an excellent student, and she has participated in extra-curricular activities. It was an amazing year for her - she has really enjoyed grade 9, and I believe she will carry on her high school years without any problems. I'd like to remind all the teachers and the principals that their work is marvellous."

- Chandra Kumarasamy, Parent

"This is my first year at Western and high school seems, at first, a really massive change from Jr. High, and to me it was rather intimidating. There are so many other students - so many older students, and you have this fear of judgment and you're really self-conscious. But being privileged to be part of the Gifted/Enriched Program, I find that high school is really enjoyable. The school year is still just beginning, but I've made a whole lot of new friends who are all part of the Program, and all really enjoy it themselves. We really appreciate the material and effort all our teachers give to us. As long as you give effort, you'll be on top of your work. Come join the Gifted/Enriched Program at Western! Hope to see new faces and familiar faces from my previous schools!"

"My son Leo is enrolled in Grade 11 in the Gifted/Enriched Program at WTCS. I wanted to take the opportunity to let you know that my wife and I have been delighted with the school throughout the three years that Leo has attended. Leo's teachers have consistently stimulated and challenged him intellectually, and Western offers a safe and exciting social environment for the students as well. Thanks for your hard work in creating such a fine school!"

- Alexander Rapoport, Parent

"The thing I've always liked most about the Gifted/Enriched Program is that he is surrounded with a great multi-cultural mix of bright, engaging kids with varied backgrounds and interests. Teachers explore subjects more fully, achieving greater perspective from the diversity and intelligence of the students."

"Since joining Western Tech's Gifted/Enriched Program, not only has my son started doing his homework (for a change), he has actually been excited about a number of his Math and English assignments!"

- Karen Amardeil, Parent

"The Gifted/Enriched Program at Western Tech goes far beyond the expectation of providing students with programming that is enriched and challenging--they provide students with many opportunities to increase knowledge and at the same time to build leadership skills."

- Molly Yeomans and Mike Katrycz, Parents

"From our end, we're absolutely delighted. Jay is really enjoying school, thinks he has great teachers, and has made new friends as well as reunited with old ones. He's especially proud of all the math he's doing, likes the pace, made me look at his notebook to appreciate the quantity of work."

- Betty Ann Jordan, Parent

"I'd like to thank the staff for providing a positive culture within the Gifted/Enriched Program at Western Tech. Our daughter actually looks forward to getting to school at 8:25am every morning & before 8:00am for the Radio Club. Even though there are many reputable high schools closer to our home, it is well worth the extra time and effort to be part of a great curriculum and school."
